The
Hallyu Wave has been instrumental in spreading Korean Culture, not just limited
to K-Pop and K-Drama, but also animation, technology, the Korean language and
cuisine.
A
recent agreement forged between the creative industries of the UK and South Korea (The Republic of Korea / UK Creative Industries Forum)
ensures that the many benefits of working in and investing in Korean
entertainment industry will enable both countries’ industries to lead the way.
Virtual reality, e-gaming and e-sports are all next generation technologies and
the two countries are keen to work together to develop these areas.
With
key scenes in the latest Avengers’ sequel, Avengers: Age of Ultron, filmed in
Seoul, even the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) is cashing in on the
destination’s lead in animation and the distinctive lifestyle in the capital
and beyond. KTO has launched a special tourism
advertisement for theatre use, “Korea: Age of Imagination” which offers a
look into the unique lives and culture in Korea such as 24/7 food delivery
service, nightlife in Seoul, traditional food and art, and haenyeo (women divers) of Jejudo Island. The New York office of KTO
is even offering private screenings of the film
Korea’s
knowledge hubs extend beyond creative entertainment to science and technology,
medical, shipping, alternative fuels and more. If Korea features
in the development of your industry, Korea MICE the national convention bureau
can offer those planning meetings assistance with introductions to key local
partners, advice on meeting venues, meeting organisers and programmes, and for
